National Review reports gun ban activists are afraid gun control laws enforced by the police would fall victim to the Black Lives Matter efforts to defund the police. https://www.bing.com/search?q=gun+control+news&qs=HS&sc=8-0&cvid=DB18BC619B9D4D399BA1AB3C224DBFD9&FORM=QBLH&sp=1
Based on the historical record, defunding gun restriction enforcement would hardly ba a bad thing. After all, during the period after 1880 and before gun control legislation reared its ugly head, the US homicide rate fell to only 0.4, or four murders per million population in many of the States west of the Mississippi.
This did not count lives lost in the Indian Wars, when the Nations were fighting to prevent the extermination of the Nation’s primary source of protein, but tht considering murder and the crimes they were a part of, the United States homicide rate was as low as any nation in the world.
It was not until striking industrial workers began shooting strike-breakers that the homicide rate started climbing. The homicide then began a vertical rise when restrictions on carrying defensive weapons were put in force in 1905 that the homicide rate became worthy of note.
The major points are the rise with the imposition of carry laws in 1905-1906, the rise after New York’s Sullivan Law in 1911, the rise associated with bootlegging activity between 1914 and 1933, the decline as some laws were repealed or relaxed, and law enforcement became more tolerant, the rise with the gun ban campaign of 1964, the sharper rise triggered by the Federal Gun Control Act of 11968, the relaxation of carry laws beginning to make a mark in 1993, and, in red, the result of the billionaires efforts to disarm America and fundamentally change it to a Socialist nation controlled by industry cartels.
America’s gun laws force exactly the same results that similar laws restricting swords to Roman Citizens had in Biblical times. So if defunding the police makes each of us policie our own property, at least the lack of enforcement will allow the law abiding the tools to keep crime down to the level of the UK, instead of Venezuela.
