But criminals only respect the law when the law has teeth. Big and strong teeth that can inflict major pain for failing to obey the law. When it was decided to stop demanding cash bail from those arrested for serious crimes, that innocent’s child beca,e a potential target. And became a real target when someone decided he needed to kill the child, thinking he could surely get away with murder.
New Yorkers live in a city where there is no hope of armed self defense, no one will assist you if you are are robbed or murdered, and where someone who criminally victimizes you will make a trip to the precinct, for as long as it takes to fill out a form and wish him good luck with his future endeavors.
The fear of punishment is New York’s hoodlums only fear. De Blasio’s actions have removed any fear of the law is the only thing that has been keeping the lid on criminal activity, and now the City administration has taken away the only thing keeping live bearable in Gotham.
Until that policy is changed, and enough criminals are sitting behind bars to impress the rest of the underworld, the violence will continue, and the violent crime rates will rise. In a few months, the violent crime rates will be as high as they were in the early 1990’s.
And the law abiding 88% of New York City residents who obey the laws are already beginning to blame Red Bill De Blasio for the soaring violent crime rates.
